Born in Leningrad. Graduated from secondary school in Sochi and begun studying at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Left the institute and began studying painting at the Leningrad Institute of Fine Arts named after I.E. Repin. Expelled from the institute in his third year of studying for disciplinary reasons and for „looking side Van Gogh". Returned to Moscow and continues his studies at the Polygraphic Institute. Graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Work as illustrator for "Junost", "Smena", "Nauka i Zhizn" magazines, "Nedelja" and other newspapers, as well as for "Khoudozestvennaya literatura", "Detguiz", "Mir", "Progress" and "Molodaya gvardiya" publishing houses. |
Joined the USSR Union of Artists. Worked as graphic artist in technique of lithography. Painted sporadically. Has worked exclusively as painter. Batchurin writes poetry, songs and short stories since 1967. His poetry has been published in various periodicals: magazines „Yunost", „Znamya" and „Syelskaya molodyozh'", in Soviet and foreign collections of songs, in such newspapers as „Literaturnaya gazyeta", „Russkaya Misl"'(Paris), „Novoye russkoye slovo"(New York) and in magazine „Kontinent"(Paris). His first recording was produced by Melodiya in 1980 - „Chess on the Balcony", then „Trees" - 1982, "I propose we sing about..." - 1986, "I Am Your Shadow" - 1990, "Drunken Ship" - 1991, CD „Waiting For Cherries" - 1994. |
